It’s National Doughnut Day and Mighty-O Donuts on N 55th Street will be giving away free mini donuts all day long! After you’ve grabbed your grub, pop over one mile to American Mary and shop dog Minnie will guide you through your pot purchasing experience.
June 3rd became National Doughnut Day in 1938 to honor those who served donuts to the troops during World War I. This would keep their blood sugar up and morale high. Mighty-O Donuts is celebrating this year by giving away free mini donuts all day long at every one of their locations.
This local company has been around for well over a decade, with bakery locations in Greenlake, Ballard and Capitol Hill. In May of 2000, their first Cini Mini was sold at the University District StreetFair. Cini Mini is now one of the most popular flavors: a mini vanilla cake donut tossed in cinnamon and sugar. The menu now boasts mouth-watering flavors like Raspberry Riot, Cocoloco and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
Like American Mary, Mighty-O strives to provide only the best of products to consumers. Conventional donuts may contain undesirable food additives. With no animal products used, organic ingredients and GMO-free, these minis are Minnie-approved.
